Rakhi Sawant buys gift for ‘her’ children

Item girl Rakhi Sawant is trying her best to be a perfect mother on NDTV Imagine’s new reality show ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ – she went on a shopping spree in the US to buy toys and clothes for the children she will be parenting on the show.

At different stages of the show, Rakhi will be taking care of kids from different age group — from infant to adolescent.

According to a unit source, Rakhi purchased clothes for both boys and girls in the age group of six months to 10 years so that she can pamper ‘her’ kids on the show.

When Rakhi packed her bags to go from Mumbai to Goa, where the show will be shot, her luggage weighed around 60 kg.

‘To manage all the stuff, she took her assistant and managers so that the weight of the luggage could be divided,’ said the source.

But since contestants are only allowed a limited amount of luggage on the show, she decided to part way with her own clothes rather than the gifts she bought for the kids.

‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ will have Rakhi and her Canada-based businessman fiance Elesh Parujanwala as well as four other celebrity couples, who will be relocated from their glamorous lives to become parents. They will have to take care of infants as well as adolescents in course of the show.

Hrithik Roshan Kites to release soon

September 8th, 2009 No comments

The Hrithik Roshan starrer Kites is rumored to hit the marquee a month earlier than planned. Apparently,

the film’s producer and Hrithik’s father Rakesh Roshan has conferred with the Kites’ director Anurag Basu to speed up the process.

The film’s shooting is over and the post production work is on, we hear. While the earlier plan was to release the film on January 15th, 2010, it has been preponed to December 18th, 2009.

Moreover, Rakesh is keen that the Kites release does not clash up with other films. It is worth a mention here that Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots will release on December 25th.

Biggies Delayed

September 3rd, 2009 Comments off

The year had promised to end on a really promising note with the Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘My Name Is Khan’ and the Aamir Khan starrer ‘3 Idiots’ set for a release in December. Joining them in the fray was Hrithik Roshan with his film ‘Kites’.

But all of that now seems like a sweet dream as all three films have been delayed for some reason or the other. It was the post production blues which led to the delay of Karan Johar and Ajurag Basu’s movie. Hence, it seemed that Rajkumar Hirani would have a field day at the box office with his ‘3 Idiots’. But to everyone’s surprise, even this film has been delayed and pushed back to next year like the remaining two. As everybody knows, Aamir’s wife Kiran has had a miscarriage and the actor has taken off for a couple of months with his wife, his home production, ‘Delhi Belly’ has been completed and everybody is just waiting for Aamir to come back to sit and supervise the editing. Even Kiran’s directorial debut, ‘Dhobi Ghaat’ has been pushed back due to the same reason. ‘3 Idiots’ too has been affected by Aamir’s decision to take off as the film’s shooting has not yet been completed. The original plan was to release the movie on December 25, but that may not be possible now. Aamir has not yet given Hirani the go ahead so nobody has any clue on when he intends to resume working. The way things stand now, all the three biggies will only be ready to unveil themselves next year.
